Taking A 46′ Albin From New York To Florida – Day 4

Day 4, we arose again at dawn, and headed out of Coinjock down the 5 -mile-long segment of the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal that connects the Currituck Sound and the North River through Coinjock. As you come out of the canal into Albemarle Sound, the expanse of open water is quite remarkable. Not remembering my previous trips so many years ago, I was surprised to see so much inland water.

We were able to fly through Albemarle Sound and into the Alligator River, which brought us out into Pamlico Sound and eventually down to Beaufort at a very reasonable hour. Pamlico Sound was even a wider expanse of water than Albemarle, so their wasn’t much to
